Salary: Band 6 (starting point negotiable)

Hours: 37 hours per week​

Ballyclare Group Practice is one of the largest practices in Northern Ireland and wishes to make this important addition to its extensive multi-disciplinary team. The practice has a commitment to innovation and high quality care and has previously held both the Charter Mark and the RCGP Quality Practice Awards.

The Practice Nurse will be integral to the delivery of a wide range of services provide by the practice and will play a leading role in the delivery of diabetic care and other services to patients with long term conditions.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with a valid NMC registration.

  • Demonstrates full understanding of the current NMC Code and Scope of Professional Practice

  • Sound clinical knowledge of current nursing practice

  • Competency in IT Skills to meet the needs of the role

  • A good team player who possesses effective communication & relationship building skills.

  • A pro-active & motivated person who endeavours all types of challenges.

Provide women’s health services including cervical screening

Desirable Criteria:

  • Expertise and competency in Asthma and COPD

MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

Location: Ballyclare Health Centre

Salary: £23,023/annum - Starting salary

Hours: Negotiable however must work Fridays​

Status: Permanent position subject to a probationary period

Ballyclare Group Practice is one of the largest medical practice in Northern Ireland, with a large team of clinical and administrative staff providing general medical services to over 15,000 patients. This position forms part of the administrative team that provides a range of functions supporting the work of the GPs. This includes booking appointments, taking and processing requests for prescriptions and receptionist duties. It involves use of the practice IT systems and both telephone and face-to-face contact with the public.

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

  • Experience of working with the general public

Desirable Criteria:

  • GCSE Mathematics & English (Grade C or above)

  • AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care

  • Experience of administrative duties

  • Experience of working in a health care setting
